Gym80 Scales "Made in Germany" Mastery with New 55,000sqm Campus

Gym80, universally known as the "King of Machines," has reached a definitive milestone in its 40-year history with the massive expansion of its global headquarters in Gelsenkirchen, Germany. By 2026, the brand has grown its footprint to a total production area of more than 55,000 square meters, doubling down on its commitment to vertical integration in the heart of the Ruhr area. This centralization of manufacturing, innovation, and design allows Gym80 to maintain an industry-leading standard where nearly 95% of all production is handled entirely in-house.

High-Tech Manufacturing at Scale

The new campus expansion is not just about square footage; it is about the integration of next-generation industrial technology with traditional master craftsmanship. By keeping production centralized in Germany, Gym80 ensures that every weld and laser cut meets the surgical precision the brand is known for.

Key facility upgrades within the new halls include:

  • Robotic Precision: The campus now utilizes new welding robots and six advanced laser systems to ensure absolute consistency across high-volume frame production.
  • Industrial Finishing: To accommodate growing global demand, the site features four powder coating systems and two specialized powder ovens.
  • Sustainable Operations: The facility utilizes an optimized energy concept, including the recycling of excess powder in the coating plant to minimize material waste and the use of transport vehicles with lithium-ion technology.
  • Global Logistics Hub: The expansion includes four new loading ramps, significantly increasing the speed of worldwide deliveries to premium health clubs and high-performance training centers.

The "World of Gym80" Experience

The campus is designed as a global destination for the fitness community, offering more than just a factory tour. It features a 360° Showroom where visitors can experience the full breadth of the Gym80 ecosystem, including the flagship Pure Kraft series, the specialized Med80 rehabilitation line, and the 80Athletics performance series.

A centerpiece of the campus experience is the Customization Lab. Here, clients can explore the brand’s extensive bespoke options, which have become a hallmark of the company. Options include:

  • 18 Standard Upholstery Colors: A wide palette of high-quality leatherette options that can be combined with desired stitching colors.
  • Bespoke Frame Finishes: Freedom to combine various frame and cladding colors, ranging from matte to glossy textures.
  • Fine Details: Personalized laser-engraved or embroidered logos and milled patterns, turning every piece of equipment into a unique design object.

A Global Performance Leader

The expansion supports Gym80’s rapid international growth, with more than half of all sales now generated through exports to key markets including North America, South Korea, Australia, and the Gulf region. By centralizing its 200+ employees and massive technical resources in Gelsenkirchen, Gym80 is effectively scaling the "Made in Germany" promise for a modern, global market.

Ryan Hawkes Advisory Insight

"Having visited the Gelsenkirchen site in 2025, the scale of this operation is truly impressive. While much of the industry has pivoted toward mass-market outsourcing, Gym80 is doing the exact opposite. By centralizing 95% of their production in a single 55,000sqm campus, they aren't just selling machines; they are selling a vertically integrated promise of quality and limitless customization. For the operator looking to build a one-of-a-kind facility, this is where that vision becomes reality."
